Kwik Strip 500ml

Selleys Kwik Strip is a rapid action solvent-based paint and varnish remover.

It is in a heavily bodied form for easy application on vertical surfaces.

Where Can this product be used?

Will completely remove paint including water based PVA's and acrylics, enamels, lacquers, shellac or varnish without affecting the grain of the timber.

How To Use

Use outdoors only - Methylene Chloride vapour is harmful to health on prolonged exposure. Move item to be stripped to an open, shady outdoor area to ensure adequate ventilation. Avoid inhaling fumes. Wear gloves.

1. Apply a thick, even coat, at least 1mm thickness, with a paint brush.
2. Allow 15 minutes for the paint to completely blister before removing with a scraper or steel wood. A repeat application may be required, depending on the number of oil paint layers present.
3. The surface can then be scrubbed, using warm water. If the surface is sensitive to water, such as any wooden surfaces, any residue should be allowed to dry and then be sanded.
4. Allow the surface to dry thoroughly and remove any residue by sanding before repainting.
5. Wash applicator brush in water. Screw on lid tightly after use.

Limitations:

• Not suitable for application to fibreglass, PVC, acrylics, linoleum, rubber or plastics.
• Will not remove Kalsomine, penetrating stains, and some specialist industrial finishes.
• Methylene chloride based strippers can darken some timbers.
• If clear finishing, first test stripper on an inconspicuous area.
